NanoDr. Diana Avila was selected by the NanoFlorida 2017 conference to give an oral presentation on her project, which focuses on eradicating latent HIV reservoirs in the brain via administration of magneto-electric nanoparticles. She presented this work also at the Society on NeuroImmune Pharmacology Annual Conference in April 2017.

In addition, Diana received the Early Career Investigator in Nanomedicine Award at the 4th Annual Personalized NanoMedicine Symposium held on November 2nd -3rd for her work on how to target HIV-1 in the brain with magnetic nanoparticles (MENPs). She was also recognized to give an oral presentation at the same symposium.
