Tsien) "for the discovery and development of the green fluorescent protein, GFP” visited the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and presented two Schultz lectures “GFP: Lighting Up Life” and “Guarantor Transcription Factors in Cell Differentiation.”

Dr. Martin Chalfie, the 2008 Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry (along with Drs. Osamu Shimomura and Roger Y. Tsien) "for the discovery and development of the green fluorescent protein, GFP” visited the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and presented two Schultz lectures “GFP: Lighting Up Life” and “Guarantor Transcription Factors in Cell Differentiation.” On March 15, 2018, Dr. Chalfie also visited our laboratory for scientific discussions about our research program. Dr. Chalfie agreed to take a picture with our research group. His visit took place during the spring break; thus, not all graduate students were available for a group photo.
